Will Badger holds an MFA in Creative Writing from NC State University and an MSt in English Literature from Pembroke College, Oxford. He is currently pursuing a DPhil at Pembroke as Browning Senior Scholar in English, exploring representations of witchcraft in the plays of Shakespeare and other early modern dramatists.

He co-founded (with Gabriel Schenk) the annual JRR Tolkien Lecture on Fantasy Literature at the University of Oxford and worked with the Tolkien Estate to establish a permanent memorial to Tolkien at Pembroke College, Oxford, where JRRT wrote The Hobbit and much of The Lord of the Rings. 

Will has taught creative writing at Akademeia Tutorial College, NC State, Oxford University, and the University for the Creative Arts. His own work has appeared or is forthcoming in War, Literature & the Arts; Raleigh Review; Amaryllis; and elsewhere. He was named Artist-in-Residence at the University of Utah’s Rio Mesa Center in support of his novel-in-progress, and his short story ‘Simulacra’ was a main selection of the 2016 Somerville Arts Festival.
