Will Badger holds an MFA in Fiction from NC State University and a DPhil in English Literature from Pembroke College, Oxford. His research explores representations of witchcraft in the plays of Shakespeare and other early modern dramatists.
He co-founded (with Gabriel Schenk) the annual JRR Tolkien Lecture on Fantasy Literature at the University of Oxford and worked with the Tolkien Estate to establish a permanent memorial to Tolkien at Pembroke College, Oxford, where JRRT wrote The Hobbit and much of The Lord of the Rings.
Will has taught creative writing and composition at Akademeia Tutorial College, NC State University, Oxford University, and the University for the Creative Arts. He was named Artist-in-Residence at the University of Utah’s Rio Mesa Center in support of his novel-in-progress. In 2018-19 he was a fellow of the Writers Guild Foundation’s Veterans Writing Project. Will is also an accredited (PCIfA) member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists.
